Post production-making of social media 5

For the 5th tracking of the making of social media campaign for Instagram. I managed to get a slot in the photography studio for Tuesday the 23rd of November among a very busy schedule as there are lots of other groups also doing this media coursework that have booked it up before we got a chance to get a slot. Also, the fact that no member of our group takes photography, this meant that it was harder for us to get a slot as well a source a camera as none of us owned one.

To solve this, I reached out to peers of mine who did photography as an A-level and would thus not only have access to a camera but also have the capability of booking the studio. We gathered the band together just before our tight time slot to ensure that the whole band was present. And that we would have access to a camera at this time. Luckily my friend Maddie was able to help us out in booking the room and providing the camera equipment.

In the studio, we got both single shots and group shots of the band to give the social media some variety and to also give us options. We took all of the shots with both normal white light, and with a blue sheet over the lights to give them a blue tint so that it would match with the theme of our music video as parts of it have blue/purple lights. In some of the shots we also gave the cast flowers as this corresponds to our logo and this further makes the products more similar to each other and helps to reinforce the star image.

As can be seen above, there are some examples of what some of the photos look like with the individual band members and the whole group. I then looked at my timeline of how the campaign would play out and begun to draft/post some of these shots that matched up to the timeline and could be used. This helped me to progress to the final stages of the campaign as there was little left to do. I will also use some of these pictures along with other gathered content to post on the Instagram stories future at the time of release as they can be viewed quickly and have a more viral aspect to them as audiences don’t have to go far to find the content and they can be shared easily.
